Digital Advertising Helps Online Terrarium Store Terrarium4u Flourish and Grow

Edmond is a nature lover. But he’s also a savvy businessman. Inspired by the lush landscape and gardens depicted in the 2010 movie Alice in Wonderland, Edmond turned his love of nature into a business. He combined tiny figurines, landscaping, and accessories with miniature plants in a bottle and voila, Terrarium4u an online store selling custom-made terrariums, was born.   

“Terrariums are small globes or glass containers in which plants are grown. They offer you the opportunity to have a miniature landscape in your home,” says Edmond enthusiastically. Passionate about greening his environment, Edmond offers his customers a microcosm of nature by creating a miniature garden for their table tops and window sills.


From seed to a tree: Nurturing a business with digital marketing  

At the onset, managing a smaller business was easy for Edmond. But as Terrarium4u’s ‘nature in a bottle’ appeal increased, so did costs and the complexities of managing the business. The first few orders for his terrariums came from friends, but as soon as Edmond took to social media and began using digital advertising to market his creations, his business started to pick up.

“People are constantly on their mobile devices and it’s a great way to connect with them on social media as its much cheaper than traditional media,” he says.   


Helping the business to flourish at the click of a button  

As his business expands, Edmond now feels that the expertise needed to manage and optimize digital marketing has exceeded his own skills and that of his network of well-wishers. “Lack of knowledge and in-house expertise in digital advertising is a major shortfall for the company,” he asserts.

Juggling a full-time job as a graphic designer by day, Edmond pursues his passion for terrariums in his spare time. “Time is a major hurdle for me. I need to manage my own website, design my Google Search Ads and promote my business,” says Edmond. “I just don’t have the time to do it all. I was asking my friends to help out with my marketing efforts, which was not ideal either.”

 “A start-up is nurtured by an entrepreneur’s care and attention and in order to lavish all his time on his creations,” describes Edmond who reckons that a digital marketing tool would be ideal in taking the effort out of marketing, one that is easy to use, and relatively cheaper than traditional media.
